Hi Rina, my fellow cat mum! Do share about yourself and Kitar Cats!
I was mad about the TV world growing up and then blessed to spend 13 years in advertising in the regional broadcast TV industry. Now I juggle between managing an inspection and maintenance startup with my husband and my pawrenting passion; Kitar Cats!
The startup with my husband was a side hustle and we saw the potential to commit fully when we were both at crossroads in our careers in late 2023. We made it our key objective to hire local tradesmen for projects and to always give back to the community. It has been a good 3 years running and InshaaAllah we hope to achieve more in future!

Kitar Cats is all about balanced raw cat food and treats made with love and care from our tiny kitchen. We realised there was not much option for halal raw cat food available so we are hoping to grow this passion further, InshaaAllah!
What inspired you to start Kitar Cats?
Kitar Cats started out of pure coincidence. We adopted 2 cats earlier in the year and was introduced to the raw cat diet. I was convinced of its benefits after interacting with raw fed cats and started to reference recipes before setting on a 80/10/10 formula that our 2 cats devoured. Friends requested for some samples and since I was making them weekly I thought why not offer to others who are keen.

What routine do you follow each day?
Practising gratefulness with prayers and also coffee. Coffee or kopi, either works!
Who is your biggest role model?
My late grandmother who I miss everyday, her passion to constantly learn despite being illiterate was amazing.
What are your favourite parts of the business?
The creative side which I could not tap into back in my corporate life and chatting with customers who share their stories; cat quirks and all.

What does success mean to you?
Success is having the luxury of time to have coffee with my husband on a weekday at 3pm and heading to the mosque for asar after.
What advice will you give to aspiring business owners?
Just start, don't worry about the unknown. Go jer!
What is the future going to be like for you and Kitar Cats?
The target for Kitar Cats is to eventually move to a licensed kitchen to be able to increase production and market commercially. InshaaAllah :)
