What do you usually do when you are travelling in a plane, bus or train? Do you look out the window and watch the scenery go by? Or play games on your devices? I prefer to sleep during my travels. Something about the rhythm of the engine will lull me to sleep.
I do bring a book or two with me to accompany me, not only during my transit, but throughout my whole vacation. I will share with you a few of my favourite books that I thoroughly enjoyed when I am on a holiday.

Wild: From Lost To Found on The Pacific Crest Trail
by Cheryl Strayed
This book resonates so much with me. At the age that I am currently at, I have experienced loss and regrets. Going through grief and trying to navigate your way back to a life that you want is throughly difficult. It is a tough read. Not because of the author. It is a tough read because I had to take a good hard look at myself at certain points. All in all, I like reading books like this during holidays as I am usually pretty energised at the end and ready to get back to real life.

Archie Comic
I know... This is a very weird choice. People will be expecting everything else but this. But what can I say? I am a big fan of Archie Comics. And I have a pretty long standing tradition with them. Each time I am at the airport, ready to go on my journey, i will stop by the bookstore and get myself a couple of Archie Comics. A little light reading to decompress as I prepare my mind and soul for a good trip.

Rachel's Holiday
by Marian Keyes
Marian Keyes is one of my favourite authors. I am so into the Walsh family series. Rachel's Holiday is actually the second book in the Walsh family series. I chose this because of the word holiday. But the story is really the opposite of holiday. An addictive read and a book you cannot put down especially when you are relaxing by the beach.

SPECIAL EDITION: MALAY BOOK

Pelukis Jalanan
by Teme
I wanted to switch to the Malay language to review this book. But due to personal reasons and to not embarrassed myself, I will just use English. Pelukis Jalanan loosely translated into Artist by the Roadside or by the Alley. The author shares about his humble beginnings as an artist and eventually an architect which he will share in another book "Arkitek Jalanan". I wanted to be an architect when I was younger so reading about his book is like a dream that came to life. I will never be an architect or an artist but thanks to him, I get to experience being both.

These books hold a special place in my heart. They keep me company through many travels and even on normal days. I hope that these will bring a special meaning to you as well when you choose to read them.
